Description
Beldi black soap, the first step of the hammam
It is not a bar and it does not foam. It is a soft, dark paste of olive oil and macerated olives, saponified with potash — three ingredients, the same three for centuries.
Why it is a paste
Soap is what you get when a fat meets an alkali: with soda you get a hard soap, with potash a soft one. Moroccan soap-makers have always used potash, so the soap stays a paste, and it stays a paste in the jar for three years. It will not lather either — lather comes from added foaming agents, and there are none here. A thin film spread over damp skin is all it needs.
What it does
It cleans, and it softens the skin so that dead cells lift away with the kessa glove. Like every true soap it is alkaline, which is why it is rinsed off rather than left on, and why an oil afterwards is part of the ritual and not an upsell. It is a cosmetic, not a treatment.
How to use it with a kessa glove
Warm the skin ten minutes in a hot shower or a steam room — this step is half the result. Spread a walnut-sized amount thin over the whole body. Leave it five to ten minutes while you stay in the steam. Rinse the soap off, then work the damp glove in long strokes, limbs towards the heart. Once a week, not more. Finish with argan or prickly pear seed oil while the skin is still damp.

Complete the Hammam Ritual
Black soap is step one. After rinsing, scrub with a Kessa Glove, exfoliate with Tabrima powder, purify with Ghassoul Clay, and finish with Argan Oil.

This Black Soap with Argan Oil has been a revelation for my skin care routine. It leaves my skin feeling deeply cleansed and rejuvenated. However, its consistency is a bit thicker than I expected, which took some time to get used to. I use it once a week or so.

Absolutely love how this soap moisturizes while exfoliating! My skin has never felt softer. The scent is subtle and pleasing, Being moroccan myself, I am so happy to find a brand that offers the authentic Hamam experience that I used to have back home when I lived in Morocco. take the exfoliating glove too!

I’ve been using this Moroccan Black Soap for a few weeks, and the difference in my skin texture is noticeable. It takes more time than the chemical shower gel, but the results are nothing compared to it. My skin is happyer

Effective in softening and nourishing the skin. However, I find it a bit too drying for my sensitive skin. I would recommend some argan oil after it on your skin

The combination of black soap and argan oil works wonders. My skin feels rejuvenated and smooth after each use. Next time I’ll take the larger size with the kessa glove!

This soap is a staple in my bathroom now. It’s fantastic for exfoliation and leaves my skin glowing. Only downside is it’s a bit hard to rinse off completely. Make sure you steam your bathroom enough because heat seems to help melt it away during the washing. Also it helps to wash yourself with warmer water to rinse it more easly

I remember the day I stumbled upon Fatima’s Garden Moroccan Black Soap with Argan Oil. I was on a quest for a natural product to enhance my skincare routine. I had heard about the wonders of Argan oil and was browsing online when I came across this unique soap. Intrigued by its rich blend of natural ingredients and the promise of improved skin health, I decided to give it a try.
When the soap arrived, its unique texture and natural aroma were the first things that caught my attention. It wasn’t like the regular soaps I was used to; it had a smooth, gel-like consistency that felt luxurious to the touch. My first use was an experience in itself. I followed the traditional Moroccan hammam steps: applying the soap, letting it sit, and then exfoliating. The process was therapeutic, almost like bringing a piece of Moroccan tradition into my home.
The results were noticeable after just the first use. My skin felt softer, and there was a visible improvement in its overall appearance. However, I did notice that my skin felt a bit dry afterwards. I remembered the importance of moisturizing, especially when using a deep cleansing product like this. So, I started applying their argan oil moisturizer after each use, and that made all the difference. The combination of the Black Soap’s exfoliating properties and the hydrating effects of a good moisturizer worked wonders.
This soap has now become a staple in my skincare routine. It’s not just a cleansing product; it’s a ritual that reminds me to take time for myself, to care for my skin in a more natural and mindful way. I’m grateful for that online search for Argan oil that led me to discover this gem. It’s a game-changer indeed – a product that not only cleanses but also respects the skin’s natural balance, provided you remember to follow up with hydration. The experience is not the same without the kessa Glove, make sure you get it as well, you won’t regret the combo!

Great for exfoliating and leaves my skin feeling fresh. However, I’m not a big fan of it’s gel-like texture.

This Moroccan Black Soap is amazing for deep cleansing. My Eucalyptus version a bit too strong for my face, but perfect for the body. I reached out to Fatima and she said the Olive version and Argan Version are more Neutral around the eyes. So I just reordered the Argan version.

I love the moisturizing effect and the gentle exfoliation. However, the soap can be a little tricky to use in the shower. I use 3 fingers to grab a good amount now.

It’s a luxurious experience using this soap with a glove in a warm bath tub. My skin feels incredibly soft and nourished. Just don’t forget to moisture after because otherwise it dries the skin a bit and you keep feeling it until you moisturize.
