Who We Are

WE ARE A FAMILY OF PHARMACISTS AND BIOLOGISTS

We were born and raised in Agadir, a city in southwestern Morocco in the center of argan trees forests. The four of us are graduates of the “Université Libre De Bruxelles”. Recently, we returned to our hometown to improve the value of Argan oil and Prickly Pear Seed oil in our region of Souss and promote local women’s cooperatives that produce it. We achieve that by bringing back our scientific and technical expertise gained in Europe while enjoying a network of acquaintances that we and our family have built here since centuries. Our goal is to become the reference in raw material sourcing by marketing Argan oil worldwide with quality standards, ethics and professionalism that international markets require today.

We wanted to tackle three main issues that are unfortunately still too widespread in Morocco:

Oil Quality

too many small cooperative produce the oil totally traditionally and export it without no controls or analysis.

Oil availability and sustainability

after a dry year, the argan trees don’t give as many fruits as usual, so many cooperatives run quickly out of stock, or in the best case scenario, the argan oil price rises too much.

Scalability

many small cooperatives are good with small quantities, but as soon as their client’s business grows and asks for higher volumes, they fail to satisfy the demand due to their limited production capacity.

WE ARE MEMBERS OF THE LARGEST COOPERATIVE NETWORK IN THE COUNTRY

So this is how we tackled each issue :

Oil quality:

We are fortunate enough to be in a family of scientists, pharmacists and biologists with our own laboratories and pharmacy.
So we’ve got the systematic oil analysis part covered. We make sure every batch produced is meeting our high quality standards by conducting analysis at the laboratories, but also at an independent government laboratory from the “Ministry of Health and Food” called l’ONSSA.

Oil availability, sustainability & scalability:

As for the oil availability and sustainability, we decided not to operate inside our own independent cooperative, but instead, we joined the biggest Union Of Cooperatives in Morocco. It regroups 22 cooperatives that are located all over the Argan region (south west Morocco) where around 1300 women are working right now (each in her cooperative in her village near her family). Having done that, we then centralized important tasks like the oil extraction, and the oil control and analysis at our headquarters here in Agadir. the advantages we obtained by this configuration is :

High raw material availability and large stocks

since we have access to argan nuts from all the region and we also stock nuts from previous years in case of dryness.

Better control on the quality

since we do the oil extraction with big modern mechanical machinery and systematic oil analysis.

A high production capacity

since we have access to large stocks, combined with our modern machinery.
