Argan Oil : Social Impact
The argan oil production plays a major socioeconomic role in the region. Today, it supports more than 2.5 Million people in the Arganeraie.
the Majority of the Argan Oil production is made by women’s cooperatives. These cooperatives are co-sponsored by the Moroccan Social Development Agency and the European Union, they’re starting to organize themselves in stronger unions to satisfy high international market demands.
These women jobs have provided them with a chance to access more education for themselves and for their children. This women empowerment radically changed the landscape inside a traditionally male-dominated society, through which women achieve more self-respect and confidence by their contributions to their communities, it’s a way for others to see them as equal members of society.
The Cooperative organization model’s success have inspired other agricultural producers to adopt it using state aid.
